Old Town Spring Car Show

There was a gathering of the Texas Old Farts Sports Car Club for a cool car show in Spring. We got to meet some new folks, always love to see new faces mixed in with Old Farts. We gathered at the Classic Consignment Auction in Conroe, looked over the cars there, then we drove into Conroe proper to see the vehicles at American Classic. Now these two car lots aren’t your regular run of the mill used car lots. They carry classic cars on consignment and the second place does restoration out back as well. Would you believe no one, not even Phil bought a new car. Oh well better luck next time, on to Spring…
.
We found parking right away and made our way into the old town. Cars and people were everywhere. There were lots, and I do mean lots of cars to see. Old, new, in-betweens and a few that looked made up to me. Paint colors were vivid on quite a few and classic colors were found on others. The streets were full of smiling facing and did I mention the cars that lined the streets. Cameras flashed, young girls posed by cars and boys dreamed of bigger wallets. You could see the twinkle in the eyes of many. Conversations of how they did this and how you could do that was overheard in every direction you turned. The car owners’ ages and manner of dress was as varied as the automobiles themselves, a people watcher’s buffet to be sure. Why there was even this one ol’ fella riding a cooler, yes you read that right. He had an ice chest with wheels, a motor and a seat on it. Have cooler will travel ya know. By the time I pulled out my camera he was lost to the crowd.
.
Folks if you have not been shopping in “Old Town Spring” you need to head out there; especially since the holidays are coming. They have wonderful specialty shops full of things you can’t find anywhere else. I'm sure they have something you just have to own. I was so busy looking, not shopping-ok maybe a little shopping, that I took only a few photos you can find them over here.
.
We drove over to the CafĂ© Adobe just to the North (turn right y’all) of Spring on I-45 at highway 242. Our waiter was called away on a family issue so one of the managers had to take over our table. What a hoot he was and he said there was no charge for the entertainment (hey that’s my line). The food and drinks were very good. I heard even the fish tacos were good. I know you’re sorry you missed this one. All too soon it was time to go. So with bellies and trunks full we all headed home. Till next time Old Farts
.
See Y’all
